I shot this a couple of days ago near Xenia’s house. The background is the border of Delftse Hout. The lens was a Sigma 85/1.4 EX DG HSM at f/1.8, ISO 50.

Here is a photo from a shoot quite some time ago. It’s summertime and it’s nice to go through old shoots, looking for nice shots.

bokeh, color grading, lowkey, maaike

This one was shot in January, 2016 of Maaike. A bit experimental with the light placed almost right above her. Doing that is a bit difficult in my studio with some light wires being in the way, but it was worth it. 😉

One more of Skye Nova, right in the center of Leiden.

I used flash here although it doesn’t show as prominently. The wall was actually quite bright and I dumbed that down quite a bit.

This one with Skye Nova was made a little later that evening, up on a walk-around area. The sky mixed well with the flash, although you do notice that the sky gets dark very quickly, and the flash output needs constant adjusting to be on par with the sky brightness.

Skye Nova is wearing a corset here, beautiful but making it hard to breathe. 🙂 Fortunately she lasted until the sun disappeared, after which we nearly got locked up inside the building. Luckily the guy who closed the door did another round before going home to sleep, and we managed to get out.

This shot of Eleonora was a little unconvential, since I took it from a lower angle, which often isn’t that flattering. But in this case it worked really well. The light was quite high up, and also since she’s looking down slightly, the highlights in Eleonora’s eyes were almost invisible, so I did add a soft highlight in both eyes to get back a bit of sparkle (sorry if that makes you think the image becomes less; I always do a blend of making interesting images and adhering to reality, but sometimes making the image nicer is higher on the list).

Also a photo of a shoot some time ago, this time postprocessed using Nik’s free effects filters (for Lightroom & Photoshop, amongst others). Thanks to Chanelle for posing.

A week or two ago a dear friend came by, Corine. She’s around 8 months pregnant, almost due. We took a couple of photographs of her, some in combination with her boyfriend.

This shot of the two girlfriends Shona and Dané accentuates the color difference, yet with a symmetrical pose.

Here is one from Dané from last Tuesday. Hope you like it.

I used my Canon 50mm f/1.4 lens for a change again. Although I like the Sigma 85mm f/1.4 better, it’s difficult to get high enough to get enough angle to fit most of the body in the shot. 😉
