Here is a photograph I took last April, in a nature reserve near Rhenen. The sun was setting but the sky still bright. A 1200Ws flash firing at the back of Annemiek, a 600Ws in front, giving a nice balance between ambient & artificial light.

This one was made seconds before we got sent away for being too close to the wildlife. The cows didn’t seem to mind. Would you? 😉

Here’s a shot that was taken at dusk, with a Jinbei DC-1200 standing about 20 meters from Annemiek. There was still some ambient light, but not much, resulting in this contrasting look. The tree was standing right at the waterside, which is hidden in the blacks in this photograph.

Here is another one from the shoot with Annemiek at dusk. There was a Jinbei Discovery 1200Ws about 5 meters to her right, as you might notice from the hard shadows. The 1200Ws was not at full power though, that would be way too much.
Not too long after that we were asked to leave, since we were a bit too far from the walking path. 🙂

My second shoot with my new outdoor flashheads was with Annemiek, at de Blauwe Kamer. It was technically reasonably challenging to get a nice mix between ambient (sun/sky) and flash light. I like the effect this gives with the harsh light in combination with the sun setting.
